FA Charter Information

The FA Charter Standard Clubs programme, supported by FA Community Partner McDonald`s, was launched in February 2001 and is a core component of The FA Football Development programme.

The project is aimed at all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League, helping players, children and parents to find a club in their local area that meets FA standards.

Charter Standard is recognized as a kite mark within Grassroots Football and is regarded as a statement of quality. The FA have set down criteria which needs to be met by clubs in order for them to be recognized as an FA Charter Standard Club.

With the continued dedication of our coaches, management committee and supporters Panshanger achieved FA Charter Standard in 2006 and was awarded FA Charter Standard Club of the Year from the Hertfordshire FA in 2009.

The Club aims to develop qualities of sportsmanship, discipline and team spirit amongst the members and tries to ensure that enjoyment of football by the children takes priority over winning trophies.

An important but unwritten aim is to encourage parents to become actively involved in their children’s development in sport and to encourage their involvement within the community.

The club encourages the development of skills and works in association with the Herts F.A. Through these institutions coaching course are available to the managers to become qualified coaches and referees themselves.

For any team that needs it there is a “coach for hire” scheme available where we can put either a fully qualified coach or a trainee coach into a team to help with training sessions.

Our Club has led the development of youth soccer in the district for many years and over the years many boys have graduated from the club into professional and semi professional football but most importantly many former members are still playing and enjoying football 20 years on.

It is the clubs ambition that its members will still be playing and enjoying football in 40 years time and thus helping them to follow a healthy life style.
